Adult Education and Workforce Development
Our Adult Education Program promotes the social and economic mobility of African immigrants through targeted educational opportunities and services that improve their English language literacy, basic skills, and overall employability.
Youth Camps
Education happens within the context of a larger community. Our approach extends beyond the school to help ensure students have the necessary support to do their best learning. Three times a year, we host an out of school youth program for children aged 5-12 years. At the end of the program, participants will improve reading skills; learn basic conversational skills in an African language; develop greater appreciation for their history and cultural heritage; learn about a variety of African art forms (music, dance, etc), be able to prepare healthy foods from their cultural heritage; learn how to work with others towards shared goals; and gain greater awareness about their community.
Sexual Assault Survivors Support
In 2019, we launched our Sexual Assault Survivors’ program with the aim of taking the lead, in facilitating a program, for African survivors, to seek and receive a culturally and linguistically competent, trauma-informed, and professional support and advocacy; connecting them to needed and desired services, as well as, harm free spaces and support groups.
